Found myself tearing up last night when my mom tagged me in this video. Such a sweet, beautiful song. My mom and I have lots of songs for each other, like:
- “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” from the Cinderella soundtrack
- “The Best Day“ by Taylor Swift
To name a few.
This song from the 2007 movie Waitress (watching it right now and it’s just my kind of movie — maybe I’ll write a review later) now joins the ranks of some of our favorite songs ever. It’s just so sweet and I can really hear my mom singing it to me, encouraging me, really letting me feel God’s love for me through it. She has always been such a strong presence and an incredible source of encouragement, and I’m so glad she’s my mother.
That said, it’s my prayer that every single young person in the world finds an amazing parent. Maybe not biological, because not everyone has been blessed with one, let alone two, but people who will love them and will embody God’s love for them no matter what.
Darn it, my classic girl sensitivities are making me cry again.
